2. Seal Between Flapper Valve and Valve Seat is Compromised

the Fill valve is actuated intermittently in order to "top off" the tank due to water flowing around the flapper valve.

3. Fill Valve is Compromised

the Tank is overfilled with excess water which is CONTINUOUSLY removed through the overflow tube.

In all three failure modes, water is not spilled on the floor but down the drain making it difficult to detect.
